I meant this post to say that now that I am home, I can fill my days with so much volunteer work that I am away from home more than I need to be and therefore I can't get anything done.

MarthaMarthahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15943812281623696381noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-617590846825685957.post-51490159025986410752012-04-24T13:23:25.200-05:002012-04-24T13:23:25.200-05:00Martha
Love your posts, but do not understand why ...Martha
Love your posts, but do not understand why you think you cannot be frugal and still work??I am retired now,but me working gave us the opportunity to put a large downpayment on our house,me working enabled us to purchase cars without having car payments, and it afforded my Dkids to attend college without worrying about a ton of student loans, and helping our daughters with thier weddings. While your frugal may be hanging clothes out, baking bread, and sewing clothes, my frugal for 42 years was putting the money I earned into savings, and purchasing things without credit.
To your points of being frugal by staying home you say you can....
Clean/Organize your home..with working my home stayed cleaner, now I seem to get into the I have all day syndrome.
Bake..We always had homemade(from scratch) breads and desserts and we still do
Planned out Meals..Neither Dh or I like resturant food so meals now and then was never a problem I did and still plan every meal, and shop the best prices at various stores.
My laundry is always caught up, do 1 or 2 loads a day and yes on nice weekends you will see sheets and blankets, rugs etc hanging outside.
I volunteered while raising my Dkids, school, scouts, volleyball and baseball, and I still volunteer at church in the nursery, I have always found time for cross-stitching and reading.
No I am not a organized person, I always feel behind and have my priorities mixed up, But I still feel I am frugal!

Thanks for seeing my side:)Bernicehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14792963039328467845noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-617590846825685957.post-9451528802006996792012-04-22T11:45:11.489-05:002012-04-22T11:45:11.489-05:00I love your blog, wished I lived near you in Iowa ...I love your blog, wished I lived near you in Iowa so we could be friends. It gets me out of the house, at least part of the time, and I'm earning social security benefits and saving money in my retirement. It's not too much, because I still have time to bake, and do some frugal stuff. (Oh how I wish I started that years ago!)

I just finished two loaves of 1/2 wheat/white bread...LOVE, LOVE, LOVE homemade food...Sharonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13940623529019637336noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-617590846825685957.post-26067166745696538062012-04-22T06:28:33.836-05:002012-04-22T06:28:33.836-05:00I so agree!!!! So what I need is a little structure in my day, too much time is being wasted and I am beginning to think I may have to return to paid work. Having said that we are not experiencing any financial hardships mainly due to better financial decisions...Maureenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03260642250519868482noreply@blogger.com
