To try to liven it up a bit, he grabbed a can of mushrooms from the cupboard, opened and drained the water from it, and poured them in.
When the kids started eating, they remarked about the 'crunchy mushrooms'. I went in search of the empty can. Due to his poor eyesight, he had mistakenly added a can of water chestnuts!
That was over 10 years ago, and the kids and I still giggle about it. :)Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06470492772543904048noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-617590846825685957.post-50413897424026136012011-08-06T17:51:34.400-05:002011-08-06T17:51:34.400-05:00Way to many to mention. This was almost 50 years ago and I still razz her about it!Juhlinoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-617590846825685957.post-25430120053982918482011-08-06T09:45:58.880-05:002011-08-06T09:45:58.880-05:00Bahahaha!!! Too many to count for sure! *blush*~Carla~https://www.blogger.com/profile/02341057469246030024noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-617590846825685957.post-67480957048007649252011-08-06T08:50:56.143-05:002011-08-06T08:50:56.143-05:00Oh my gosh, I have had so many meal flops I can...Oh my gosh, I have had so many meal flops I can't count. I have a very wide palate, and my family has a very limited palate. So, even though I may enjoy foods, my family may pucker up. If I make a meatloaf recipe that i varies from mine, they won't eat it. I once made an Asian inspired dish with peanut butter sauce on the noodles. "Gross, Mom!" I had my family over for dinner in the early days of my marriage with and elk roast and chocolate orange cake for dessert. The roast, although it was in the oven for about 2 hours and the meat thermometer read med. rare, it was blood rare and I had to try and finish it off in the microwave. And meanwhile for dessert, the chocolate orange cake
s picture in the magazine was magnificent. The layers slid off and even though I tried to rescue it with toothpicks for support, the whole cake was just sort of laying on its side on the plate in one sorry lump. This last week, I tried out some new chipotle sausages for dinner. I've eaten them as leftovers all week, and finished up last night with them cut up and on pizza (my portion only, of course). Well, you've got to try new things otherwise dinner's would be boring. And you never know when you'll hit upon a new family favorite.

http://simpleeverydayliving.blogspot.com/Rosehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16924988248364848607noreply@blogger.com
